Newsletter #2 2022

Dear Nordic BTA Member,

Summer holidays are a fleeting memory and we are back to business, busier than ever. Both travel and meetings have restarted, and this is the perfect time to remind you of our current and future activities.

NBTS 2023

Our main event, the Nordic Business Travel Summit is well on its way. Program is being built and registration will open soon; we expect a good number of Nordic buyers and suppliers of business travel services to come together in Stockholm in March.

For the first time in NBTS history we offer our Supplier members the opportunity to propose breakout session topics. And no - not for sales pitches, but to raise issues which pertain to how we’ll travel sustainably, pay for the services fluently, or practically to any important developments which affect our industry in the near future. If you haven’t submitted your proposal yet, do so – but hurry: the deadline is September 30th.

Instead of giving out the Nordic Business Travel Awards, in 2023 we will concentrate on recognizing travel managers and/or buyers, who stand out. Rookie of the year? Most valuable team player? Best in class for category management? Early adapter of new tech? You name it! We’ll tell more about this soon.

Also: we still have some sponsor packages available. To learn more about any of the above mentioned topics, feel free to contact your local Business Travel Association GM and we’ll be happy to help.

GBTA

A lot is happening with GBTA at the moment. There is a new visual look and feel, but that’s not all:
GBTA New Logo 2022
GBTA’s European Conference will take place in Brussels 9 – 10 November, and a separate event, GBTA Sustainability Summit will be held in the same location on Nobember 8th for those who are keen on understanding how business travel can be more environmentally friendly. We already have 50+ registrations from the Nordics but the more, the merrier! Early bird pricing is available until September 28 and if you plan on attending, sign up soon!

While we are on the topic of sustainability, a brand new toolkit has been published on the GBTA Hub. The Sustainability Toolkit consists of several modules and is a practical guide on how to minimize the climate impact of business travel. This toolkit, like so many other useful documents, are available to all GBTA-registered Nordic BTA members without additional cost.

BT4Europe

The newly established European Network of Business Travel Associations, whose founding members all Nordic BTA’s are, have published our first position paper: Sustainability in Business Travel. The paper calls for urgent and significant steps to be taken to improve access to standardized, accurate and comparable data on the CO2 impact of business travel. The document can be accessed here.
