*GBTA Europe Chair Application Extension* In response to a number of queries regarding the position of Chair of the European Advisory Board we are extending the closing date to 1 October. The role description is presented below along with a link to apply. It's a brilliant opportunity for the right person and is a critical role for us in Europe at this time. The role of the GBTA Europe advisory board chair is to lead the advisory board during meetings and chair interaction alongside the GBTA EMEA Regional VP. He/She is paramount to establishing the direction of GBTA Europe, undertakes a public and internal representational role (with potential reference in press) for GBTA in Europe. In addition, the Chair ensures that the advisory board represent the interests of the European business travel community and GBTA Europe full members in the final guidance provided by the Advisory Board to the GBTA Board of Directors   The Chair needs to be a Member of GBTA Europe and a decision maker within their employing organisation.  He/She should have the full support of the employing organisation to act as, and to fulfil the responsibilities and commitment as set out below. The title does not carry legal director responsibility. Chair Responsibilities 1. Welcome address at annual European conference 2. Attendance and chairing of all Advisory Board conference calls (10 per annum) and one annual Brainstorming Day 3. Represent GBTA Europe as the head buyer and where possible agree to reference in that capacity in press interviews. 4. Maintain regular call contact with the GBTA Regional Vice President - EMEA to discuss any issues in implementation of strategy.   5. To proactively promote GBTA Europe to potential members and sponsors and assist in membership growth strategies 6. To engage with the GBTA Europe regional partners 7. Typically length of service is a 3 year appointed terms Chair Skills and Experience 1. Experienced volunteer, ideally with a strong track record in leading volunteer groups 2. Strategic business travel buyer with a breadth of knowledge across the travel eco-system 3. Excellent leadership skills 4. Diplomatic and a good communicator 5. Understanding of how associations work 6. Strong networking skills and willingness to use network to the benefit of GBTA 7. Commercial acumen 8. A diverse approach and desire to create an inclusive environment 9. Global mindset 10. Ability to manage key stakeholders at a global and regional level 11.
