NBTS2020

Nordic Business Travel Summit postponed

11.3.2020 by Sari Viljamaa

The Nordic Business Travel Summit planned for 17-18 March in Stockholm has been postponed by one year.

The annual Nordic Business Travel Summit (NBTS) 2020, which was scheduled to take place in Stockholm next week on 17-18 March 2020, has been postponed by one year to March 2021 due to the interest rate crisis.

GM of the Swedish Business Travel Association SBTA Lotten FowleriThe message, signed by Mr. n, smacks of great disappointment. Business travel associations are scrambling to find ways to support their industry and organise the most important joint event of the year, as well as an ambitious programme of meetings and training. "We are in a situation where we are stumbling down the steps of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs now rather than up. But at the heart of it all is the well-being and health of businesses and their employees," said Lotten Fowler in her message.

The NBTS organisers are trying to find ways to maintain and build on the work and resources already done after one year in spring 2021. The organisers are now asking for patience and understanding from the various stakeholders. How to move forward will be discussed once the situation is clarified (E. Havia)

Nordic Business Travel Summit 2020 - postponed to 2021

26.11.2019 by Sari Viljamaa

Update 10 March: #NBTS2020 will be moved – see you in Stockholm in March 2021

After careful consideration and lengthy deliberations with key stakeholders, we have decided to move this year’s NBTS to March 2021.

We will in the next few weeks contact all sponsors, speakers, panellists and delegates. Our hope and ambition is to find a way in which to make use of the resources already submitted from sponsors and others. Please allow some time for us to investigate a way forward – we will make sure to inform all on how we intend to make this work.

It is with heavy hearts that we send this message. We so much wanted to deliver #NBTS2020 and by doing that, show support for this industry. We have now reached a situation where we’re all stumbling down Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, rather than up – and focus must lie on making sure that employees and companies fare well.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this decision, don’t hesitate to contact any of us GM’s in the 4 Nordic Business Travel Associations.

Last, but not least, a big thank you to Clarion Sign for supporting our decision by being flexible.

Best regards on behalf of SBTA, NBTA, DBTA & FBTA,

Lotten Fowler
General Manager SBTA

Welcome to the Nordic Business Travel Summit 2020 |
The Name of the Game!

We have further developed the event and are now including breakout sessions in order to provide wider content, adding more choice. The goal of the Summit is to Inspire, Challenge and Inform: at NBTS you will get a taste of what’s coming and what you need to be prepared for. We want to have a Nordic Touch to the content and the combination of networking, information and possibility to exchange experiences with your colleagues in the industry makes NBTS a unique platform for knowledge and development!

The program will be updated regularly, but already now you can read about some of the topics that will be covered at NBTS!

UPDATE 9.3.2020

A message from NBTS organizers: COVID-19

In these past days we have discussed with members, sponsors and speakers on the topic of NBTS. We still agree that unless the Swedish health authorities recommend against holding larger meetings, we will not be cancelling. The reasoning has its origin in respect and concern for an industry under extreme pressure and the need to address the situation. We’re working on raising the industry situation in a session during the Summit and will get back to registered participants with more information.

We are of course monitoring the situation on a daily basis, ready to amend our decision if necessary. We will obviously notify all concerned if any changes are made.

Needless to say, we ask those who have visited any of the contaminated regions, or met with people who have been there, not to attend the NBTS. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions on this.

Best regards,

Lotten Fowler on behalf of the NBTS
