UK ETA

Without an ETA travel permit for UK flights from February 25th

The electronic ETA travel permit is a requirement for boarding flights or, for example, Eurostar trains when travelling to the UK, from 25 February 2026. BTN Europe: ”Another change, coming into force from 25 February, will prevent eligible visitors without an ETA from boarding their transport to the UK”.

Passengers transiting through UK airports who go through UK border control will need an ETA, unless they are transiting via Heathrow or Manchester airports and do not go through UK border control. If the transit also requires changing airports, an ETA will be needed.

The price of the ETA travel permit is GBP 16 and it is planned to be raised to GBP 20 during the current year.

Scam sites a growing nuisance when applying for ETA and ESTA authorisations

The use of ETA and ESTA travel forms by scam websites is on the rise.

Scam websites using ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) and ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) travel forms have been reported to the Cybersecurity Centre of the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom. Victims have suffered financial loss and personal data has fallen into the wrong hands.

UK travel authorisation ETA mandatory from 2.4.

The vast majority Finnish people will soon need electronic travel permit, if you intend to travel to Britain

For example, all Finnish tourists, regardless of age, and those travelling to Britain for business will need a travel permit. The permit must be obtained from April 2nd. Applications can be submitted from March 5th. The easiest ETA travel permit (Electronic Travel Authorisation) to apply for a mobile phone with the app.Alternatively, a permit can be applied for from the official British websites through.
